After the Irish Independence newspaper mentioned my book Married Women Who Love Women in an article called “The Day I Realized I Was in Love With Another Woman”, I got an email from Newstalk radio, an Irish radio station. The interview is scheduled for their afternoon show with Sean Moncrieff on Monday, August 23 at 4:00 PM GMT or 11:00 AM EST. and the station is Newstalk 106-108 FM  Dublin

One woman quoted in the piece said  that when she was thirteen, (46 years ago,) the word ‘gay’ didn’t exist in Ireland. Girls didn’t even know anything about their periods, let alone their sexuality.”

I wasn’t surprised by that. According to David Wyatt, between the years of 1961 and 1970, one gay character was documented on a television show. From 1991 to 2000, gay characters numbered 306.
