Interesting Events for October

October 8-10, 2010

The Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies (CLAGS) announces a weekend-long event/conference/festival of lesbian history, culture, arts, scholarship, discussion, and performance. The event will call upon experience, memory, and scholarship to represent the broad and wide experience of lesbians during the 1970s. The conference embraces a variety of topics and formats, from intimate conversations to more formal presentations of original research, from roundtables to workshops to reminiscences.

(I’m planning to attend on Friday and hopefully make the dance Saturday night.)

October 16-17, 2010

I’ll be on the Sunday panel of “meet the authors” at the International Women’s Writing Guild‘s two day workshop at The National Arts Club in NYC. 15 Gramercy Park South (just east of East 20th St.) This building is amazingly beautiful and registration comes with a sumptuous lunch. This is a wonderful time to connect with other women writers and would/be writers. (It was this organization that led to my becoming a writer and I can’t say enough good things about it.) I’ll be on the Sunday panel of “meet the authors.”

Details here.

Please drop me a note or come up and introduce yourself if you are able to come.
